Affiliate Disclosure — Nest & Well

Transparency & Trust

We believe you deserve to know exactly how this site works and how we make money — clearly, honestly, and up front.

01 Overview

Nest & Well participates in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate advertising programs designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to products on Amazon.com and other retailers.

When you click certain links on this Site and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission. The price you pay is always identical to what you’d pay going directly to the retailer — there is no surcharge, no hidden fee, and no markup of any kind.

The short version: We earn a small commission when you buy through our links — at no extra cost to you. Commission rates have zero influence on our rankings, our scores, or our recommendations. That is a promise we keep every time we publish.

02 How Amazon Commissions Work

Amazon’s affiliate program uses a 24-hour cookie. When you click any affiliate link on this Site, we may earn a commission on any qualifying purchase you make on Amazon within 24 hours — not just the product we linked to.

For example: you click our link for a $30 air purifier, then add a $1,200 laptop to your cart and check out. We may earn a commission on both — even though we only linked to the air purifier. This is Amazon’s program design, not something unique to us.

We disclose this because you should know exactly how this works before clicking any link on this site.

Commission rates vary by Amazon product category, ranging from 1% to 10%. The category that typically earns the highest rate on this site is Luxury Beauty (10%). General Electronics earn 2.5%. These rates are set entirely by Amazon — not by us.

Important

Commission rates never influence which products we recommend, how we rank them, or what scores we assign. A product in a 2.5% category receives the same objective evaluation as one in a 10% category.

03 Affiliate Programs We Participate In

We currently participate in the following affiliate programs. Any new programs we join will be added here promptly.

Primary
Amazon Associates Program

Our primary affiliate relationship. Amazon affiliate links appear throughout reviews, roundups, and gift guides on this site. Governed by the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement. See Amazon’s privacy policy for how they handle click data.

Secondary
ShareASale

Used for select brand partnerships outside of Amazon. Affiliate links from ShareASale merchants are disclosed in the same manner as Amazon links — clearly, at the top of the relevant page.

Secondary
Impact Radius

Used for select direct brand affiliate programs. All Impact Radius links are disclosed on the relevant page before they appear.

Future
Mediavine Display Advertising

Once the Site qualifies, display ads may appear alongside content. This section will be updated at that time. Display ad revenue is separate from and does not influence affiliate editorial content.

04 Our Editorial Principles

Affiliate income supports this site and allows us to keep testing products and publishing free content. But it never — and we mean never — influences what we recommend. These six commitments govern every piece of content we publish.

Commission-blind rankings
We recommend the best product for you. Commission rates are irrelevant to our rankings.
Real-home testing
We test every product we recommend. Our reviews reflect genuine experience, not press releases.
Honest cons
Every review includes genuine weaknesses — minimum two, always specific. No exceptions.
No paid placement
No brand has paid us for a favorable review or guaranteed ranking. Ever.
Sample disclosure
If a brand sends us a product to test, we say so on the relevant article. Our score remains ours alone.
Current content
We update articles when products change, are discontinued, or new versions launch.

05 Where Disclosures Appear

FTC guidelines require that affiliate relationships be clearly and conspicuously disclosed. We go beyond the minimum requirement:

  • Top of every article: A visible disclosure appears above the fold, before any affiliate links, on every page that contains them.
  • Never buried: Disclosures are never hidden in a footer, collapsed behind a toggle, or written in a font size smaller than surrounding body text.
  • Plain language: We use direct, simple language — not legal boilerplate that obscures the relationship.
  • Sample disclosures: If a product was received as a press sample, that is noted clearly on the relevant review page in addition to the standard affiliate disclosure.

06 What We Don’t Do

For complete transparency, here is what you will never find on Nest & Well:

  • Affiliate links in email newsletters. Amazon Associates prohibits this. Our newsletter links only to pages on this site, never directly to Amazon.
  • Ranking products by commission rate. A 10% commission product gets the same evaluation as a 2.5% one. We rank by performance and value — always.
  • Clicking our own links. We never click our affiliate links ourselves or ask others to do so artificially. This violates Amazon’s Operating Agreement and is something we’d never do regardless.
  • Hardcoding prices in article text. Amazon prices change constantly. We use the AAWP plugin to display live prices pulled from the API — never static text that could mislead you.
  • Undisclosed sponsored content. We do not currently accept sponsored content. If that ever changes, it will be stated clearly at the top of the relevant page.

07 FTC Compliance

This disclosure is provided in compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials in advertising (16 CFR Part 255). These guidelines require that material connections between advertisers and endorsers — including affiliate relationships — be clearly and conspicuously disclosed.

We also comply with the Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement, which independently requires clear disclosure of our participation on every page containing affiliate links. We review the Operating Agreement annually, as Amazon may update its terms without prior notice.
